'Key' launches strong for Comedy Central

Comedy Central newcomer "Key & Peele" opened to 2.1 million total viewers Tuesday, giving the cabler its top launch for a new series since 2009. The premiere of sketch-comedy show "Key" followed the fourth-season debut of "Tosh.0," which drew 3.1 million viewers. "Tosh" was the No. 1 show in all of primetime among men 18-34 with a 3.4 rating and No. 2 behind Fox's "New Girl" in men 18-49. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele star in "Key," which had a 2.2 rating among men 18-34 and won its timeslot in that demo 18-34. Contact Jon Weisman at jon.weisman@variety.com
