A helicopter ride home
Matthew Libatique
and Harrison Ford
After long lasting a few of the more lengthy-winded honours speeches in recent memory -- even by ASC standards -- the characteristically shy Harrison Ford, who had been because of the Board of Governors laurel, stored his remarks thankfully short, as did individuals who won competitive awards in the d.p. kudofest Sunday at Hollywood and Highland's Grand Ballroom. Ford, whose reel incorporated d.p. touchstones "Apocalypse Now" and "Bladerunner," gave a shoutout to dolly grips, who managed to get simple for lensers like presenter Matthew Libatique, to mimimize Ford's time on set. The prize? A ride home on Ford's helicopter.
