I was just watching 16 and pregnant, and this thing came up and said
"MTV is running a little late so we have to slide into the next show."
Or something like that. The next episode just started at a random time
in the middle of the episode. Has this ever happened before?
Yes, it has, and i believe it's fairly common, too. this happened to me last night when Ridiculousness ended. To explain what happened to make that appear, the advertisements delay the shows alittle. Eventually, the channel starts running late. The brodcast ensures that the schedule is caught up, and that you don't have to wait through advertisements and miss your favorite shows :)

ReplyDeleteLol, your logic defies me. An excess of advertisements is what's CAUSING a portion of the show to be cut off, not the other way around. The schedule's inundated with so many ads, that they're actually cutting a portion of the program off to allow for more commercials/revenue.
